Animal Research Perspectives (ARP) is committed to full transparency in all publication costs. This page provides a complete overview of our article processing charges (APCs), waiver programmes, and any other fees associated with publishing in the journal.

1. Article Processing Charges (APC)

ARP is a fully open access journal. To sustain our editorial services, peer review system, professional production, and long-term digital archiving, an Article Processing Charge (APC) applies to all accepted articles.

2. Current APC Waiver (2026–2028)

To support the global research community during the journal's initial launch phase, the APC is fully waived for all authors for manuscripts submitted and accepted between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2028.

No payment is required during this period. All articles will be published open access without any charge to the author or their institution.

3. Waiver and Discount Policy (from 2029 onwards)

ARP is committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent high-quality research from being published. From 2029, the following waiver and discount programmes will be available:

Full Waivers

· Authors affiliated with institutions in low-income economies, as defined by the World Bank, are eligible for a full waiver of the APC.

Partial Discounts

· Authors from lower-middle-income economies (World Bank classification) are eligible for a 50% discount on the APC.

Case-by-Case Consideration

· Authors who do not meet the above criteria but can demonstrate genuine financial need (e.g., unfunded research, early-career researchers without institutional support) may request a waiver or discount. Each request will be considered individually by the editorial office.

How to Apply

To request a waiver or discount, please contact the editorial office at ArpEditor@iacademic.info before or at the time of submission. Include a brief explanation of your circumstances and, where applicable, your institutional affiliation or funding status. All requests are treated confidentially.

4. No Other Charges

ARP does not charge any additional fees beyond the APC. Specifically, we do not levy:

· Submission fees

· Page charges

· Colour charges

· Figure processing fees

· Supplementary material fees

· Withdrawal fees

The APC listed above is the only fee associated with publishing in this journal.

5. Institutional and Consortial Agreements

ARP is open to establishing agreements with institutions, library consortia, and research funders to support open access publishing. If your institution is interested in a prepaid or discounted APC arrangement, please contact us at ArpEditor@iacademic.info to discuss the terms.

6. Refund Policy

In the event that an accepted article is withdrawn by the authors after the APC has been paid but before publication, a refund may be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to the editorial costs already incurred. Please refer to our Refund Policy for full details.

7. Currency and Taxes

All fees are listed in USD. Authors are responsible for any applicable taxes or bank transfer fees. Please consult your institution or tax advisor for guidance on tax exemptions.
